2019 Cheverny Blanc

A wine made up of predominantly Sauvignon Blanc with a touch Chardonnay and Orbois (aka Menu Pineau or Arbois), from vines around 25 years old. Grown on the appellation’s classic alluvial sandy gravely soil. Very generous in fruit, with cooked apple and cooked lemons, lovely mineral notes with a clean line of acidity. This is a wine filled with rich and intense flavours underpinned by energetic minerality.

2015 Cheverny Blanc ‘Dede’

100% Sauvignon Blanc from 2015, matured for a year before bottling. Bottled without fining or filtration and miniscule amounts of sulphur.  An exotic nose opens to mango, pineapple and other sweet tropical fruits. On the palate the theme continues, with grapefruit adding a citrus dimension to the flavours. The flavours are sweet and rich but the wine itself is quite dry. It’s an excellent wine in a very unique style.

2018 Cour-Cheverny

100% tank-fermented Romorantin from vines around 25 years old grown on silty clay soils. Romorantin, at least when grown in this region, is like the love child of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Golden straw with lots of fruit concentration and a light reductive note of struck match or gunflint. The wine itself has a silken mouthfeel, carried by a line of concentrated fruit – mainly preserved lemon, orange peel paired with white asparagus. Pronounced minerality all the way along - Chablis meets Loire Valley.

2015 Cour-Cheverny ‘Les Sables’

100% Romorantin from 30+ year old vines, matured in foudre (large oval shaped barrel) and 600l demi-muids for 10 months, then transferred to cement tanks for a further 5 months before bottling.

2015 Cour-Cheverny ‘Porte Dorée’

100% Romorantin from a vineyard of 40-90+ year old vines that undergoes long alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. 85% of the wine is matured in barriques and 25% in demi-muids for 10 months before bottling.

2015 Vin de France ‘Coganis’

1500ml. A one-off blend of Côt (Malbec), Gamay and Pineau d’Aunis. The Pineau d’Aunis lends a little lightness to this supple drop in comparison to some of Philippe’s other red blends. Balanced with red fruits and red florals, this is great served at room temperature or with a bit of time in the fridge before opening.

2019 Cheverny Rouge

A blend of mostly Pinot Noir and Gamay with some Côt (Malbec) from a plot on siliceous soil on poor clay. The bouquet carries confit blackberry fruit and continues on the palate, accompanied by red fruits and some peppery tones in there too. The Côt lends darker ripe fruit flavours to the light, fresh fruitiness of the Pinot Noir and Gamay. This one was made to drink young, so drink within the next 3 years.
