2019 Praxis Sparkling Riesling
With a light, fine bead our Praxis Sparkling 2019 starts with tantalising wafts of lemon, nectarine and grapefruit. Then brace yourself for a lively palate of lemon sherbet, wizz fizz and an explosion of bubbles. – Moorilla Estate
2020 Praxis Sauvignon Blanc
One of the best Tasmanian Sauvignon Blancs we have tried. Its firmly in the juicy citrus slot. Mouthwatering!
2019 Praxis Chardonnay Musqué
The pretty, pale, lemonesque hue gives no indication of the fruit bomb this wine actually is. On pouring you’ll get a generous, summery nose of hibiscus, green tea, lemon sherbet and jasmine, while the palate is a silken-textured treat of green mango and crisp acidity. Medium bodied, it drinks beautifully cold. Keep an extra bottle chilling, for top-ups. – Moorilla Estate
2018 Praxis Pinot Noir
Made from Pinot Noir fruit grown at the bottom of Moorilla’s St Mattias block, this is picked early to maintain natural vibrancy and 50% whole berry fermented. The plush silky mouthfeel is a perfect match for the strawberry, cranberry, red cherry and black berry flavours. It’s well rounded with liquorice and spice notes from 8 months oak maturation. Pour a glass and you’ll instantly see why this is one Moorilla’s most popular wine - full-flavoured, supple yet fragrant and simply delicious.
2015 Muse Extra Brut
Very light, very bright. You’ll find some reductive, smoky notes on the nose, which round into roasted hazelnut—a real showcase of maturity and complexity. The palate is crisp, racy and lean, with a lovely high acidity giving a tart, dry delicacy to this light-bodied wine. A refreshing, austere vintage that demands food (something light) and rewards some time in the glass (don’t serve it too cold). – Moorilla Estate
2015 Muse Extra Brut Rosé
A medium-full salmon sparkler, this is a slightly drier, more savoury take on our Extra Brut Rosé. Expect light, earthy and autumnal notes on the nose, leading to a tightly focused palate with just a dab of tannin and a moreish finish. An excellent aperitif. – Moorilla Estate
2017 Muse Sauvignon
This wine is made to sit somewhere between a typical Sauvignon Blanc and a Fumé Blanc, therefore, it is simply called Sauvignon. The wine is a blend of a number of batches of stainless steel fermented, but mostly barrel fermented wines. Verdant and herbaceous, the 2017 Sauvignon is all about freshness, lightness, and shades of green. Cucumber, rosemary and melon romp around a bright, grassy nose, with soft, luxurious tannins driving red apple, lemon pith and a slight savouriness across the palate. The light French oak treatment is expressed in a slight toastiness and an abundance of volume and length. – Moorilla Estate
2017 Muse Riesling
93 Points – “30% was transferred as cloudy juice to ferment (wild) in old oak; the rest went into stainless steel. There's a significant amount of texture here and a vague sense of funkiness to match. Wild by ferment, wild by nature. Intense cooked apple, sandalwood, rose and citrus flavours roll through. It's both soft and characterful.” – Campbell Mattinson for Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2021
2019 Muse Pinot Gris
Leading with big, juicy pear character, our 2019 Pinot Gris also exudes golden delicious apple and plenty of zesty bounce to offset the sweetness. White florals and Turkish spice present nicely on the nose and carry gently to the palate, while the wild fermentation brings a luscious, soft mouthfeel and great textural length. – Moorilla Estate
2018 Muse Chardonnay
An unassuming, very pale yellow hue belies a fresh, energetic vintage. While the initial bouquet is restrained, there’s a pleasant savouriness (and nothing shrill or grapy). The palate expands—more of the same folded into a bright acidity and faint, almost flowery notes. Finishes medium-long, with satisfying depth and lingering complexity. – Moorilla Estate
2016 Muse Pinot Noir
96 Points – “A superb wine, and a fine follow-up to the excellent 2015 … the palate is full and rich, concentrated and powerful, the finish very long-lasting. The sweet, rich core of ripe fruit gives it succulence. A delicious wine!”– Huon Hooke, The Real Review 2021
2015 Muse Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc
94 Points – “It’s polished, ripe and flushed with delicious berried fruit. It feels and tastes cool climate, it has a mouth-watering aspect to it, but it's also generous and warm-hearted. Chocolate, boysenberry, mint and grassy herbs are at the tiller. In the end its quality is undeniable. A fine and long future awaits.” – Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2020
2015 Muse Syrah
96 Points – “Tasmanian shiraz is more than just a curiosity. It doesn't always hit the mark but when it does, watch out. Here we have a prime example: it bounces with ripe berried fruit, but then it's layered with gun smoke, graphite, peppercorns, nuts and herbs. Tannin has a fine-grained finesse to it; length is excellent; and it has X-factor. It is a beauty.” – Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2020
2007 Cloth Label Late Disgorged
96 Points – “Thrilling bottle of fizz. A powerful palate, a finish that doesn't know when to stop. Apples, raspberries, sweet pastries and citrus. It hits and it keeps on running. Top notch.” – Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2020
2015 Cloth Label White
Luminous, luxurious and layered, the 2015 Cloth White is a promise of spring and spice. A bewitching lemon-gold in the glass, the bouquet suggests chai, cinnamon, honeysuckle nectar and peaches, with deeper notes of apricot beyond. The palate balances medium acidity and tannins with an astonishing spread of texture across the tongue, bringing grapefruit pith, cashews and lime skin character before a refreshing finish. Nuanced and exhilarating, it will reward just-below room-temperature drinking or a good stint in the cellar. – Moorilla Estate
2015 Cloth Label Red
This vintage is a touch lighter than the last, showing many of the qualities you’d normally see in an LDR, with a bit more character—a Medium Dry Red, perhaps. Red-maroon hues on pouring foreshadow the nose: tomato leaf, blood plum and cardamom. The palate boasts a beautiful acidity, and the flavours perfectly straddle the blend of lighter and heavier grape varieties, with fruit-of-the-forest berries and blackcurrants giving way to raisins and dried cranberries. A shining example of the unique terroir of the St Matthias. – Moorilla Estate
