2020 Single Vineyard ‘Champs de Cerises’ Chardonnay

Coming from the duplex soils (red volcanic and mud stone loams) of Macclesfield, this was the ideal site for the season. Dijon clone 76’ reacted well to the cooler weather and resulted in a detailed and generous fruit. The resultant wine was fermented naturally with no settling in one year old French Oak (Puncheons and Barriques). The wine also was allowed to complete approx 30% MLF to allow some softening of acidity.

Pale Gold in colour with citrus flowers, fennel, white peach and nectarine. Complexities include roasted nuts, lemon curd and smoky butter aromas. The palate is full throttle citrus fruits with a creamy textural mid palate. The wine drives long to the finish with smoky minerals and custard spice. - Dappled Wines

2020 Single Vineyard ‘Champs de Cerises’ Pinot Noir

Available on allocation only.

Red soils, cool vintage and cool site. The whole bunch component is slightly higher than past renditions. Small 1 tonne ferments with wild yeast and 25% new French large format oak.  

Light ruby red, almost translucent. Captivating aromas of Kirsch, raspberry and floral’s with beautiful nutmeg, cardamom spice aromas and subtle smokey notes. The palate is fine and focused with sweet raspberry fruits and cherry cola flavours. It’s got texture, but it’s not at all tannic - there’s depth of fruit but it also remains focused and pure. This will develop beautifully over the next few years. - Dappled Wines
