2018 ‘Je t’aime mais j’ai soif’
Melon de Bourgogne, Marsanne, Folle Blanche. A fresh and lively cuvée with a hint of sweetness and a golden glow in the glass. Fermented for 17 days using indigenous yeasts, retaining delicate citrus fruit flavours. Perfect for an aperitif, serve fresh but not too cold!
2019 Muscadet ‘Mouton Noir’
Classic neutral young Muscadet nose with delicate scents of melon, pear and citrus. The mineral edged palate has a soft texture with delicate fresh cut apple and melon flavours with a whip of juicy acidity raising the energy and concentration of flavour for an impressive mouthwatering palate. Textbook fruit driven short lees aged expression of Muscadet.
2015 Muscadet Sèvre et Maine ‘Fief des Coteaux’
Melon de Bourgogne, of Gabbro terroir. This wine is the product of a collaboration of a small, informal group of winemakers from the Nantes region, calling themselves “Les Affranchis”. The objective in the winemaking process is simple yet ambitious: always focus on optimal quality. Organic methods are used in the vineyards and cellar, as well as biodynamic practices used in viticulture. Sweet, evocative fruit notes, almost concentrated enough to be described as dessicated, combine with musky salinity. Youthful, full, richly textured on the palate, with a minerally bite and lemon-salty characteristics.
2015 Muscadet Sèvre et Maine ‘Fief Seigneur’
Melon de Bourgogne, of Gneiss terroir, the second of the wines from the “Les Affranchis” collaboration. Light racking overnight, fermented with natural yeasts, and bottled in Spring after maturing on fine lees for 9 months. Notes of white fruit with well-balanced minerality.
2018 Vin de France Cabernet ‘La Part du Colibri’
Cabernet Franc. Inspired by the Amerindian legend of the hummingbird trying to do his small part to put out a forest fire while other animals looked on helplessly, Caillé believes he too is doing his part by converting his farming to follow organic principles. “Alone, we won’t save the planet, but we contribute”.
9 day maceration, aged in stainless steel, bottled without fining or filtration. Ruby red in the glass, with flavours of black fruits shining through. Well-structured with light tannins and a silky finish.
